It's easy to ignore the inconveniences

Last week at work I get a phone call.  The caller asks me to look out the window and tell her the name of the flooring shop across the street.  The tree partially blocked the name so I had to fill in the blanks like I was playing Wheel of Fortune.  Now do you think that person is going to go and tell their friends about the exemplary service they got?  Do you think they are going to call the company with a compliment?  Write a Yelp review?  This is the sort of stuff that makes people think of sayingit's not my job and the public be damned.  Tiny little moments of being gracious and helpful lost in the mire of fickle public opinion.
