A Catholic quickie?

https://www.ncronline.org/blogs/ncr-today/quickie-confirmation

Drive into a heavily Latino parish, probably in East L.A. There, you will find a visiting priest from Mexico who will give you a (very) condensed run-down of confirmation requirements, do a lovely blessing, sign a piece of paper -- and you are done. He gets a nice "donation" (which often gets sent back to the home parish, just like Fr. Figueroa).

Golfer shot in the leg Hemet California

http://www.pe.com/articles/hemet-828556-golf-bullet.html

The victim said he had been hearing gunfire from the hills in the hours before he was struck in a leg about 6 p.m. Witnesses said they heard what sounded like gunfire from the hills in the unincorporated area of Juniper Springs, west of the golf course, just before the man was hit.

Jerry Brown

Proposes gas tax for California.  The State of California has been spending all it's money in an attempt to civilize people.

California wants to take a step back in time before standardized rails connected the train system.

Every time Jerry Brown says taxes he starts to salivate, must be why I can't find a video.  However it doesn't explain why no media source quoted his resent announcement.  Oh that's right, the media thinks we're too stupid to require of them mature honest journalism.

Kermit Gosnell is in prison because?

California prosecutors on Tuesday charged two anti-abortion activists who made undercover videos of themselves trying to buy fetal tissue from Planned Parenthood with 15 felonies, saying they invaded the privacy of medical providers by filming without consent.

                                    -----------------------------------------

If you want an abortion you can get an abortion. If science wants to use aborted fetal tissue they are allowed to use aborted fetal tissue.

The 1980's: Hello can we get our foreign policy back?
2017: Sure the Democrats don't need it anymore they created plenty of new imaginary enemies.
The 1980's: Thanks

The 1970's: Hello can we get some credit for defining the new century?
2017: Sure can you be more specific?
The 1970's: We made movies man.  King Kong climbed the Twin Towers.  Death Race 2000.  Watch the news maaaan.  We called it. We were hip to your vibe.
2017: Did you want your domestic policy back too?
The 1970's: Nope, bye

Should California restore the grizzly?

read full article: http://www.recordnet.com/news/20160730/fitzgerald-should-california-restore-grizzly

The California grizzly bear, an awesome beast that once haunted the Delta, was driven to extinction in 1924. An enviro group wants to re-introduce them to the California wilds.
"Returning these incredible animals to remote portions of the state would be a key step in rewilding parts of California and saving one of America's most iconic animals," says The Center for Biological Diversity.
The group has launched a pointed advertising campaign. It uses a blank California flag — there's just white space where the grizzly should be.

I support the idea. Crazy as it sounds.
Part of it is personal. How can I call myself a wilderness hiker if I reject real wilderness?
Part of it is — well, it's hypocrisy to heap contempt on water exporters who drove the San Joaquin River salmon extinct if we're OK with extinctions that suit us.
Part of it is they belong here. Up in the back country, the remote Sierra canyons, the snowy gorges of granite, pine and icy streams where they lived long before we arrived. That's better than flying a blank white flag.
