Martha McLean was one of three women who saved the integrity of the Santa Ana River.  The Army Corps of Engineers wanted to line it with concrete.  Along the ride yesterday we saw numerous homeless encampments they seem to find the wild river an ideal habit.  One thing is for certain they are thanking God for the drought.  They are living inside the river banks.  Numerous articles have been written in the local news lamenting the plight of these street people. 

 Anyone interested in taking up a collection to have a Darwin Award ceremony for them and the politicians and bighearted humans who dearly love and care for these individuals? 

Later up the river I saw a group of regular city folks playing and picnicking down river from these encampments.  I wonder if the same people who care deeply for the street people camping along the river care to alert the people down stream to beware of high levels of human excrement and possible drug paraphernalia in the water?

The bike ride was fun and easy.  We had a BBQ and nice time visiting.  The parking lot flooded when someone backed over a hose bib.  The Park Ranger couldn't shut off the water main, because I'm guessing he didn't have the key to the pump house.  I'm sure there was a reasonable explanation for why the park ranger parked and sat in his vehicle and watched the water flow full blast.

2016 there is a new building surrounded by dirt no paved parking lot no drive thru.  It's like Dorothy's house landed in Oz.  Just plopped down in a dirt lot.  When I drive by at night there is a car parked near the building in approximately the same spot.  I assume it's Glenda waiting for Dorothy and the munchkins to arrive on set. The politics of Riverside County are the pulse button on an electric blender.  Bursts of frantic noise and subtle motion dependent on the duration of direct pressure.

I will have to get a picture of the odd setting, but I usually pass by at night.  My camera won't take a decent night image. This building needs to be seen in the daylight.  I have a feeling the picture won't equal how strange it looks in real life.  I feel like the neighboring business, a seedy looking low pitched roof motel with a neon no/vacancy sign, plays an important role in the mood creation.  It gets my full attention each time I pass.  There has to be a reason.  Angels versus Demons?  An ancient curse on the land?  A time machine malfunction?   Could it have been built faster than the speed of light and my earth bound vision is not allowing me to see the future that is completed until I catch up?

A few days ago a conversation was started about "The World Getting Worse".   I was trying to convince a woman who made the statement (the world is worse) the world has always been as we see it now.  She said she had been alive longer and knew better.  I said I read history books that show repeatedly the horrible things people have done.  The speed and ease information is spread and the speaking of a common language can make things seem worse, along with the blending of truth and lies.  Being shocked or amazed by revelation can feel overwhelming but human behavior is reactionary and unpredictable and there is no stable state that can be created by mankind.  It is not the nature of nature.

In the 1970's McDonald's made a commercial jingle 'McDonald's is Your Kind of Place' and it was parodied.  I don't know how anyone heard the parodied version(s). There wasn't the Internet of today.  Anyhow my point is somehow it made it out into the world.  Below are a few videos.  They sum up real potential in humans.  Potential, the word, can be used to proclaim a high hope.  Likewise it can mark a new low.  Whichever end of the spectrum's boundary is breached potential resets and waits for new growth in both directions.

I lost money in an ATM recently.  I had to file a report with the banking institute.  Now I wait to see what they determine.  I wish society would take on the advancement of customer service.  The quality of customer service is the by far the most important aspect of any business.  Problems occur, however the amount of aggravation created by poorly trained customer service representatives is 100% avoidable.  I am waiting to resolve the money discrepancy and after will decide whether I continue as a customer with this financial institute.  I've had an account 40+ years with this bank.  The poor quality exchange I had to endure from one of their employees, I'm ready to close all my accounts.  It's easy enough to determine when employees don't fear repercussion from management which only means one thing.  They are all friends and will back up each others stories regardless of the circumstances.  This is a red flag in any type of job.

This is how I see it: Managers who hire half wits they can control so they don't have to worry about job security. Their job security.  They know the underlings won't be capable of promoting.  They encourage their bad manners and poor people skills.  Fully aware of their abrasive demeanor.  This indicates layers of irresponsibility that has been allowed to continue unchallenged.  I'm talking about beyond meeting quotas and filling out paperwork.  Personnel allowed to represent a company with a bad attitude is telling a bigger tale on the office dynamic.  Stay far away from companies that allow this type of insanity.   Filling complaints and going above their heads doesn't work either.  Just stay away.

A strange communication quirk I've noticed.  When a person tries to clarify something which isn't apparent.  It usually is received with a sarcastic comment.  There are many variations of how this plays out.  I recently was asked to help a phone customer at work.  I located the item.  Back to the phone I took down the necessary information.  The caller said the person would be in the next day to pick up the item.  Okay so this is where the quirk begins.  The employee who answered the phone originally was male.  I took the call and only asked what item was being sought.  I didn't know who was calling.  Often times people call to hold an item for someone other than themselves, or have a different person pick up the item for them.  I got the customer name. I didn't know the relationship of the caller to the person picking up the item.  Since there are operating hours that different from store to store.  I mentioned the store hours for the store I work, for the day the customer would be arriving.  The caller said "Yeah I know, we all know!" Followed by a haughty laugh.  I thought I was extending a courtesy because customers have been sent by employees that didn't clarify our particular hours.  They arrived after the doors are locked.  Anyhow the quirk is subtle and to me it indicates a blind spot of awareness that is difficult to remain in a present state of mind when dealing with other people.  It's an interesting place to be put into and try to remain thorough.

Facebook people mining

I decided 11 months ago to get a Facebook account.  It was really convenient to mindlessly post this and that.  As per my typical online experience it is never as dynamic as I hope it will be.  When signing up for Facebook you go through and answer various questions.  In particular the birth date selection.  It is a standard choice of the common 12 months.  The day selection is 1-31.  The year selection is where you step into the murk of the internet.  It lists 1905- 2016.  Once Facebook decides they want you to prove your identity, they ridiculously request a copy of your birth cert.  I don't know anyone born in 2016 who can type, and I don't know anyone born in 1905 who is still alive.  A free service asking me to prove my identity.  I'm not sure what is more amusing.  Asking to prove my identity to use a free service, or that Facebook gives a crap about me as an individual.  If some of the people I encountered during my Facebook period are in fact verified real people living and breathing...I don't even want to finish my thought on that.

I hope they enjoy their people mining venture. Won't be finding this rare element me.

The Church apparently isn't following protocol. This needs to be fully investigated by the each separate Diocese as well. There are serious breeches of the security going on here. He would have had to go through finger printing and several certifications to be allowed inside a Church building.

Every Church that took him at face value is committing fraud and should be immediately closed until they can be fully audited to make sure anyone and everyone that has access to parishioners has been vetted.
