The retail clerk forms a bad habit

Ring bell for service. Ding. Wait. Wait. Still waiting. Ding. Wait. Wait. Wait. Employee shows up.  
Me     "I wasn't sure if you heard me."
Clerk  "I heard you."  "What can I help you with?"
Me.     "Looking at her not saying anything."
Clerk   "Well?"
Me       "I heard you"

Chipping away at the crusty surface that form on human interactions.
