Rumor has it
JcPenney is closing the Hemet store. The Hemet Valley Mall is going to be turned into an indoor swap meet. I'm imagining folding tables and products piled in heaps. Most people are seeing this as a step toward third world status. When they start dropping food and medical supplies at the park the leadership vision will become clear. For now they seem content playing footsies trying to maximize Federal grant money, without entirely killing the local economy.

I never understood the Occupy Movement
If they would have used the zombie theme. It would have made more sense to me.
Protesters affiliated with the Occupy Las Vegas movement (L-R) Dan Cooper, Bob Joyce and Jim Strohl, all of Nevada, participate in a "zombie walk" on the Las Vegas Strip October 30, 2011 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Today was eventful
Besides the earthquake
I saw a car in a ditch at the donut shop by Juniper Flats Rd. It looked like they didn't realize the ditch was there trying to pull out onto the Hwy. It's an irrigation ditch and isn't common for people used to curb and gutters.
I saw cars smash into each other in my rear view mirror between Menifee and Palomar. SCE was doing work on the shoulder and closed the lane. I saw one car sliding sideways trying to stop. I saw smoke from the car behind it locking up the tires. It was hard to make sense of what was happening in the mirror until I saw them getting closer to me. Thankfully I had space in front of me to move forward.
Road work on the 215 Fwy adding a lane under two bridges. With the bushes removed it gives an entire new view to an area I've driven past many years. It's the first time I saw dirt and the short chain link fence hidden underneath the oleanders.
Seeing new faces walking around the neighborhood. None seem friendly. Mostly they look awkward, and overly self-conscious. Could be the new environment, or their typical MO. It's hard to tell the difference anymore.

Talking to the wall will make it a window
Everything is wonderful as long as good people obey the rules. When good people stop being predictable bad people don't know how to act. Even though their common mantra is "everyone's doing it". It becomes obvious they live in a state of bliss amongst the good people of civil society unable to carry the torch because their hands aren't accustomed to such a task. Busying themselves perfecting the words of victimhood...talking and talking and talking.

Strangling a Tradition
There is a tradition. I don't know what it's called. The first time I saw evidence of it was when I was 8 years old. I was visiting a school friend. Her neighbor had a kitten. It came over to us in the yard. The kitten had a string tied and knotted around it's neck. So it would slowly be strangled as it grew.
In my neighborhood there are several families that constantly get puppies. They always put collars on them (without license tags). Puppies and kittens are seen as toys for children. The collar is to choke them as they out grow cute. Backyard breeders, and puppy mills know their target market very well.

Gifting giving
Gift giving is always an emotional event. Strings attached can prolong the emotional drain. Stomping the gift into the ground in front of the gift giver is the only way to make certain all strings have been removed. Be sure to leave the broken pile on the ground. That way there will be no confusion that you took it home and glued it back together. It's best to walk away while the look of shock is still on their face. If the person is inclined to reconcile their choices they can approach you in a dignified manner once they rethink their choices. Otherwise they can find comfort in the susceptible masses that prefer to dilly dally in the slurry of despair ever present in anguish filled lives, and they won't notice you've walked off.

Artisit , theatre majors, and musicians begging for money
I think panhandling is being taught at the college theatre department. I encountered a dramatic panhandler yesterday. I'm sure he practiced his spiel in the bathroom mirror. The trouble with starving artists, theatre majors, and musicians, they are emotionally driven and can be rendered helpless with a large dose of reality, and truth. After I listened to the blah blah blah (need money) blah blah. I asked if he wanted to hear about my problems. I began to describe the troubles in my life. He realized my life was far more interesting than his. He became upset at me for stealing his limelight. He walked off sobbing and chewing on his knuckles. Recomposing himself quickly when he spied his next supposed victim.

Come Out come out wherever you are
If getting elected means a person is the most qualified, it should be easy to find educated voters who understand the issues since they are in fact the majority. I should be encountering these people in my everyday life since they are the majority. Why are they all pretending to be pie filling. Gooey and sticky taking up space in all the nooks and crannies. Living in the witch's candied home, until too fat to run or defend oneself. Where are the gingerbread men and women, with defined shapes and easy to clean crumbs.

lanes
Adding lanes to local roadways. Road work taking place on several major thoroughfares. BeautifyIng store fronts and off ramps. To present this area as welcoming. Unlike its former image as a place where life could be in peril if your car broke down. The stretch of Hwy 74 that takes one through Homeland is a deadly passage for animals and humans. Mostly by the cars whizzing to or from by way of Hwy 74. While bad manners are the common theme of many locals. When getting closer to home most of us decelerate so we don't miss our exit from the Hwy. The additional lanes will create a new feel for this area a bike lane should be included if no jobs sprout up on this new pathway.
