Like the days of innocence before the internet, and yesterday donuts. Vacuumed up by some unscrupulous person somewhere. . .
I remember the only time I was taken on ebay. It was a $3.00 dollar kids toy for a daughters collection. (a mini glow worm) We found one and dutifully ordered it. Needless to say, the payment was processed, the money taken and no product ever arrived. It was never sent. Despite complaints to ebay and paypal, our meager few dollars were likely stolen by some dumb punk kid in Iowa.
To appease the daughter, we wrote letters to the postal inspector, and the police department in the town where the seller lived. We never even received the courtesy of a reply. For me it was bewildering. For the daughter, I think it shook her confidence in the social institutions we had spent years building up. . .
Forget it, its gone.
