'Inbred Inland Empire'

Martin made the “inbred” comments after receiving an email containing a copy of an April 2013 column by Cassie MacDuff of The Press-Enterprise. The email was from Warren Adams, a managing partner at WJ Advisors, a LAWA consultant.
“I thought reporters were supposed to be objective? She has been relentless in her views,” Adams wrote.
“Not in the inbred Inland Empire,” Martin responded

A Marine's Best Friend SEPTEMBER 27, 2014

Military dogs are often our troops’ first line of defense, sniffing out hidden bombs in some of the most dangerous places on earth. This excerpt from the new book Top Dog by Maria Goodavage recalls the sacrifice and bravery of a smart German Shepherd–Belgian Malinois mix, who led Special Forces soldiers onto a battlefield in Afghanistan’s Helmand River valley in March of 2012. But it also captures the loyalty and trust that develop between a dog and her handler and the deep, loving bond that lasts a lifetime.

Groundhog dies after escaping NYC mayor's grip

Where are the Atheists?  They will lambaste the tradition of Christmas and not blink an eye toward bizarre rituals like this.

This was de Blasio's first time doing the annual ceremony. He wore heavy work gloves on the cold winter day, in part as a safety precaution after Chuck bit Mayor Michael Bloomberg in 2009.

ADAPT says it wants to sue Little Rock police over arrest of protesters

 read article here:
http://media-dis-n-dat.blogspot.com/2014/09/adapt-says-it-wants-to-sue-little-rock.html

The ADAPT statement from group organizer Mike Oxford seemed to take issue with those arrests in particular, noting that the sidewalks in Little Rock are not ideal for wheelchairs and can cause them to "get stuck or tip over." Many of the ADAPT demonstrators and a number of those who have been arrested are in wheelchairs.

"We have repeatedly tried to explain to the Little Rock Police that the sidewalks jeopardize many people in our group," Oxford wrote. "Many of the officers have quietly agreed with us that they are a safety hazard yet the city and police administration insist that we must stay on the side walk 'no matter what.'

Could this be Cause and Effect of American Journalism techniques:

Throughout this epidemic, public health officials have battled widespread fear and even doubts that the virus exists at all. The deadly attack illustrates the danger that health workers face as they try to spread information about the virus in an effort to control the deadliest Ebola outbreak in history. The attack occurred in an area near where riots broke out last month because people feared that workers disinfecting a market were contaminating people, according to the BBC.

Autumn's Law

"Autumn's Law" - Hold Abusive/Neglectful Parents Accountable

http://www.change.org/p/autumn-s-law-hold-abusive-neglectful-parents-accountable

When a parent/guardian knows or should have known that their child may pose a threat to third persons, it is the parents/guardian’s responsibility to minimize that risk.  A child’s issues are not the responsibility of his/her school, state, teacher, counselor, law enforcement, community, neighbors or church, but instead, the primary responsibility of the child’s parents/guardians
When the parents/guardians of a minor murderer are proven to have failed in their parental responsibilities by ignoring warning signs, failing to treat their children’s mental/emotional/behavioral issues and by fail to ensure proper supervision of their child, the parents/guardians actions/lack of actions becomes a contributing factor to the loss of life and lifelong devastation inflicted on their victims and their victims’ families. As such, they should be held criminally responsible.

California creature

Just had a strange woman attack my mailbox.  Waiting for the Sheriff to file an incident report.  This woman is the new image of the California Girl.  A Hollywood agent would give her a reality show.  The ideal of a  liberated woman.  A Government nightmare, a politician's dream.  She is a creation of the State of California.  I don't know if she would be able to survive outside of the political climate of California.

*Update the California Girl came back and attacked my mailbox again.  I asked her why she said  "You don't deserve one."  She went through a list of things I'm sure she has used in the past that has gotten some sort of reaction out of people.  When none of that worked she said "You don't belong in Homeland."  I guess she figured this area is only for drug addicts, alcoholics, thieves and ne'er-do-wells.  California is going to get their dream come true because these are the only type of people that are going to be able to survive in this State.

I didn't read the article went straight to the comments,

I had to share this one, because I love bizarre funeral stories.

If it's possible to see your own funeral then I'll bet she was enjoying it.It sure beats my family funerals. After my great-uncle died, everybody got sentimental about his girlfriend who was a sloppy drunk. Nobody wanted them around when he was alive. The family took up a collection for her.She used it to buy booze, got shxtfaced drunk and peed on the floor in front of the casket. My father also said that another great uncle nearly got knocked into the grave when someone punched him during a fight .Sheesh.

Kashkari and Brown Debate

California Gubernatorial Debate - September 4, 2014

I just finished watching the debate.  I thought Kashkari did a good job.  Of course I thought the questions were stupid, but an insight into the two candidates was the point of the debate.  Jerry Brown when asked if there would be another debate, mumbled incoherent nonsense.  Kashkari hammered Brown about how he is going to pay for the high speed rail project.  Which will be by increased gas prices(tax).  What wasn't mentioned is the fact that California gas prices are, for now, being kept (for some reason) artificially low.  Take a trip out of the State of California you will see what I'm talking about.  Jerry Brown made a few strange comments trying to justify his extremely long political career.  Jerry Brown is out of touch with the constraints the ACA has put onto part-time employees.  Jerry Brown tried taking old tired jabs at Neel Kashkari about Wall Street.  Brown was trying to take on the persona of a tent dwelling 99%er.  It was silly and ridiculous, like we are supposed to believe Jerry Brown has no investments and has never made money in the stock market.  Brown even said something about 'sure if you give out money people get behind you'  (a Democrat telling the truth, oh lordy).  I hope there are more debates, but with a different panel of questioners.  Neel Kashkari doesn't come off like a typical politician even though he acts like one by being able to work with opposing political parties.  That seems to be a rarity in the modern world.  California has changed in the last 50 years, the politicians need to update their idea of sustainable economy, and start reading from a new script.

***Jerry Brown has no mention of the debate on any of his social media accounts***

Zombies don't wear helmets.

Dude on a scooter pulls over to put the zombie out of it's misery.

double vision plus one

If you're driving and you start seeing double you should pull over.  If you start seeing triple, you've crossed into another dimension.  The traffic flow can come at you from every angle, your insurance policy is no longer valid.  When you get to the ford, you'll be given a sword you'll have to battle a hydra, retrieve the gold pieces and outrun a pack of hell hounds that will chase you to the edge of a cliff, where you'll have to jump to your death.  While falling you will be startled awake to the same stretch of road your vision blurred.  Your thoughts will be cloudy for remainder of your drive.  You'll want to tell your story without sounding insane.  The chance will never present itself because the issues of the day are smeared thin across the canvas, the voices in unison sound like fingernails on a chalkboard.  Your mouth feels dry and your stomach feels full though you can't remember your last meal.  You find yourself interacting with people that agree with anything you say, even when it's blatantly asinine.

Atomic Age

A chilling sign posted at a gas station

The civil war rages on

Manners generally are pleasant and can create a sense of ease.  Manners can also be a warning that something unpleasant is about to happen.

Yesterday I was leaving the grocery store.  I got to the door as three extremely large guys walked shoulder to shoulder into the store.  I backed up my cart because they had no intention of allowing me out the door before them.  One of the guys after passing me turned his head, while walking away said  "Excuse me ma'am."  The perception was what I noticed, and the intent.  Their body language did not match the congeniality.  The group of guys didn't look friendly.  If I saw them walking toward me in the parking lot.  I would have definitely taken a different path to avoid them. Maybe you earn street cred each time (you think)
you've convinced someone you're civil while being ironic.  Keeping the options open to look like a doe eyed fawn, or a psychotic killer.

"Goddamn it I said excuse me." said while checking for dirt under the fingernails, after responding to a text message that caused you to bump into the person in front of you. As a side note, if they had any respect for you as a person they would have noticed you were distracted and gotten out of your way.
